CEIC Data’s Brazil Premium Database Launched 

New York, NY, September 1, 2010 – CEIC Data Company Ltd (a subsidiary of ISI Emerging Markets) today announced the launch of its Brazil Premium Database.

The Brazil Premium Database is a comprehensive time series database of macroeconomic and industry data, composed of over 110,000 series dating back to 1940 and beyond, and covering 11 industries and 13 economic categories.  A hallmark of CEIC’s premium country databases is the depth of regional coverage.  Brazil Premium is no exception, with detailed economic statistics and information on 27 states and over 6,000 municipalities across Brazil.

The launch of Brazil Premium completes CEIC’s suite of extensive, in-depth BRIC information packages, combining with China, India, and Russia premium databases. The timing could not be better as Brazil emerges as an economic superpower.

The Brazil Premium Database was developed by the CEIC team in São Paulo supported by the global expertise of CEIC. This ensures extremely high data quality standards, an area of great importance for CEIC.  Agnes Au, Operations Director for CEIC, confirms that the commercial release passed careful scrutiny:  “We wanted to be sure of our data, so we’ve spent weeks going over the database, making sure it lived up to the standards we’ve set with our China database. Brazil Premium has earned it stripes, and we are proud to include this new database in our BRIC roster of premium services”.

The database is available as a ‘stand-alone’ service or in conjunction with other CEIC products.  It is delivered exclusively on CEIC’s proprietary CDM platform.
