IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York, Sept 15, 2008 - ISI Emerging Markets ("ISI"), the leading provider of emerging market business information and global macroeconomic data, today announced it has completed its acquisition of a copy of the Reuters EcoWin Economics Database (subject to any required supplier consents), pursuant to the agreement previously announced on July 28, 2008.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The sale was made by Thomson Reuters (NYSE: TRI; TSX: TRI; LSE: TRIL; NASDAQ: TRIN) to meet certain regulatory requirements of the European Commission in connection with the merger of Thomson and Reuters in April, 2008. Thomson Reuters retains full ownership of the original Reuters EcoWin Economics Database and related trademarks, and no changes will be made to its business as a result of the sale.
"Completion of this acquisition allows us to press forward with the integration and enhancement of the EcoWin data in our CEIC Data ("CEIC") macroeconomic databases. Our data collection teams and analysts in 29 countries can now get to work on making CEIC a leader in the global macroeconomic data industry, a position we feel we already occupy for emerging market macroeconomic data" said Brian de Lacy, CEO of ISI.
