| ISI EMERGING MARKETS ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DIVISION OF LIQUIDAFRICA
New York, NY, October 05, 2004 – Internet Securities, Inc (trading as ISI Emerging Markets), the pioneering publisher of Internet-delivered emerging markets news and information, today announced the acquisition of the assets of the Business Intelligence division of LiquidAfrica (Pty) Ltd, South Africa. The acquisition provides the ideal springboard for ISI Emerging Markets to expand into sub-Saharan Africa. Covered in the transaction is all the content from the Business Intelligence databases of LiquidAfrica (Pty) Ltd, including its archive of licensed proprietary and aggregated news, deal and transaction data, corporate filings, and company fundamental data. ISI Emerging Markets will integrate this data into new and existing Africa-oriented products over the coming months. Current subscribers to the LiquidAfrica (Pty) Ltd Business Intelligence products will continue to receive this service from LiquidAfrica (Pty) Ltd until all data assets are integrated into ISI Emerging Markets services. ISI Emerging Markets plans to open an office in Johannesburg to service the region. Brian de Lacy, born in South Africa and now CEO of ISI Emerging Markets, notes: “Our customers have been asking us for the sort of coverage in Africa that we have become known for in Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America. The assets of the LiquidAfrica Business Intelligence division provide an ideal opportunity for ISI to enter sub-Saharan Africa. This data combined with our existing content, operations and technology will help ISI to become the recognized leading professional business information resource for the region.” Cyrille Nkontchou, founder and CEO of LiquidAfrica (Pty) Ltd adds: “I started LiquidAfrica inspired by the case study on ISI Emerging Markets in one of my business school classes. So there is a fitting symmetry to joining forces with ISI. The sale of the assets of the Business Intelligence division of LiquidAfrica (Pty) Ltd to ISI will allow LiquidAfrica to concentrate on developing our regional trading platforms and corporate advisory services.” As part of the agreement, Mr. Nkontchou will remain active with ISI as a consultant.
