The history of M.H. Dadabhoy Group begins in 1895 when a young entrepreneur Ali Mohammad A. Latif landed in South Africa and started a trading house. He was soon able to open a departmental store and was poised to explore new vistas in business when he left for his heavenly abode at the young age of thirty five.
Later, Mr. Abdul Ghani Dadabhoy, posthumous son of Mr. Ali Mohammad A. Latif, setup a trading house and a soap factory in Por Bandar, India and at the time of Pakistan’s independence, he shifted to Pakistan.
The Dadabhoy saga of entrepreneurship and success in Pakistan began about fifty years ago when (Late) Mr. Abdul Ghani Dadabhoy made Karachi his home. Immediately after settling in Karachi he setup trading house encompassing a wide range of business. He started businesses based on cotton ginning, oil plants and construction. Sheer hardwork, professional commitment and vision provided the foundation for the establishment of a solid industrial base.
Cement, Sanitaryware, Plasticware, Lubricants, Paper Sacks, Prefabricated Construction Material and Agricultural Equipment were some of the areas of interest to the Dadabhoy Group. Subsequently, Leasing and Insurance companies were also added.
