Globalport 900, Inc. (PORT), was originally incorporated in 1933 as Metropolitan Insurance Company engaged in the insurance business. In 1999, the corporate name was changed to MIC Holdings Corporation and the change in primary purpose from insurance to that of a holding company. Latter, SEC changed the corporate name to its present one and amended its primary purpose from that of a holding company to owning, investing, managing, operating, maintaining, and developing port facilities, including other maritime activities supportive of port operations and shipping. The company is based in Pasig City and has been suspended for trading in Philippine Stock Exchange.
