Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima) is an Egyptian chemical producer, incorporated in 1956 to produce nitrogenous manure for the Southern Valley by using the elector-hydraulic power generated by the Aswan Dam. The company commenced production in 1960 with an daily capacity of 600 tons of ammonia. In 1967 the company built a factory for ferrosilicon with a production capacity of 7000 tons per year. Ferrosilicon is an input in the production of iron and steel. The main factories of the company are located in Aswan. Kima was listed in the Egyptian Stock Exchange in 1995.
