Novartis Ecuador S.A. (Ecuador)

Novartis Ecuador was incorporated in 1975 under the legal denomination Ciba Geigy Ecuatoriana S.A. In 1997 the company changed its name to Novartis Ecuador S.A. It is a subsidiary of Novartis Pharma AG, economic entity located in Switzerland, which operates the Novartis group, a multinational pharmaceutical corporation. The main activity of the company is the import, production and sale of chemical products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and all type of products related to the chemical industry. Novartis´ business is divided into three divisions: pharmaceuticals, eye-care products and generics. It has also established a research organisation, Institutes of Investigation Biomedica de Novartis that facilitate the cooperation between the different business lines.
