Born from the merger of Farmacias Brand (1880) and Farmacias Salco (1982), the S&B Farmaceutica Holding began operations in January 2000, positioning itself as the leading pharmacy chain in Chile with more than 225 stores throughout the country. In June 2001, the joint operation under the SALCOBRAND brand was formally launched. As a result of this action, the Holding S&B Farmaceutica develops further its operation through the construction of a modern distribution center in the commune of San Bernardo. In mid-2002, S&B Farmaceutica changed its name to SALCOBRAND S.A. The Colodro and Selman families sold their percentage stake in the company, which was acquired by Empresas Juan Yarur S.A.
