Sabesp is responsable for the sanitation in the state of São Paulo. The company provides services to 25 million people in 368 cities. Between 1992 and 2005, Sabesp was in charge of the Tietê river revitalization program, in order to avoid floodings and unpollute it, investing 50% of the program's total. Considered the largest Brazilian company in the Water&Sanitation sector, by the publication Valor 1000. In 2002, Sabesp launched its stocks in a initial public offering, in Bovespa - São Paulo Stock Exchange and in the same year, Sabesp launched its ADR's in New York Stock Exchange.
