Compania Minera Aguilar exploits the main reservoir of zinc, lead, silver and cadmium in Argentina. Aguilar, founded in 1930, also owns Sulfacid, a firm located in San Lorenzo (Rosario), zinc processing for the local market, and a silver and lead smelter in the town of Palpalá Jujuy. The production is about 38,000 tonnes / month. The mine C.M.A. is divided into three main areas according to the degree of mechanization employed and ore grade, these are Pink Bottom, the deepest at level 31, Mina Norte and Nueva Esperanza, which is in turn divided into two parts: Mina Mina Rincon and Oriental.
