Al Jomaih Group started out in 1936 as a family business in Mecca trading in foodstuffs and textiles. The company was then appointed the Ford dealership in Central and Eastern districts in the mid 50’s. In 1964 Aljomaih became the largest distributors for Ford outside the USA but eventually lost the deal in 1967. In 1968, Al Jomaih acquired the franchise of General Motors and Pontiac and as the company expanded it also became the franchise owner of Cadillac, Buick, Chevrolet, Opel and SAAB in Saudi
