Skopje-based joint stock company Makstil is the only producer of steel hot rolled plates in Macedonia. The company came out from the reconstruction and the privatization of the former Mines and Iron & Steelworks Skopje. In 1997 Makstil was established as a privatized independent company when Duferco Group acquired 54% of its capital.
The production of rolled plates is carrying out in the Steel Making Plant and Quarto Plate Mill. The handling of the operation process in Makstil starts from preparation of the scrap and other charging materials for production of liquid steel and slabs casting up to production of plates.
