Fakom AD (North Macedonia)

Skopje-based joint stock company Fakom AD deals with design, production and installation of steel constructions and equipment. Fakom was established in 1960 to service the production needs of "Rudnici i Zelezarnica" Skopje. In 1982 it broke off from "Rudnici i Zelezarnica" and started to function as independent company.
The company functions as holding, performing its sole activity through two organizational units: "Fakom Inzenering" and "Fakom Montaza". "Fakom Inzenering" deals with production of steel structures and parts for structures, while "Fakom Montaza" main activity is building of high and low-rise structures. Besides domestic market, Fakom is also present on foreign markets, especially in Canada, USA, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Serbia etc.
Privatization of the company began in 2002 when social enterprise was transformed into а joint stock company. 74% of the company capital was privatized.
As of end-2010, the major shareholder of the company is Repro One Limited, a British company that has also invested in the Macedonians firms Beton and Makstil.
