EFT Macedonia, part of UK-based EFT Group, was incorporated in April 2006. The company received electricity trading licence the same year.
EFT Group is the major electricity supplier in Macedonia, having a market share of 90%. EFT Macedonia delivers energy to 10 clients, including the state system operator MEPSO, the national power utility ELEM, the distribution company EVN and industrial consumers, such as FENI, Silmak, Bucim, Makstil, Arcelor Mital, Skopski Leguri and Titan Cementara.
At the beginning of 2010, EFT Macedonia acquired the ferroalloys plant Silmak, based in the Macedonian town of Tetovo, for the sum of EUR 5.6 million.
