Lee Hedges PLC is an investment company located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It has a long-standing history, with its membership in the Chamber of Commerce dating back to 1906. The company was originally established in 1857 by Mr. W.D Lee as a merchant and estate agent in Colombo. In 1866, J.R Hedges joined the firm as a partner, and the company became known as Lee Hedges & Co. In 1867, the company issued a copper token minted in England, showcasing its growing reputation. Over the years, Lee Hedges PLC has been involved in various business activities, including estate management, tea exporting, and garment manufacturing and exporting. The company has undergone name changes with changes in ownership. In 2012, under the leadership of its current Chairman/Managing Director Mr. S.R Vamathevan, the company revived its old name, Lee Hedges, and became known as Lee Hedges PLC.
