WPP-Scangroup Plc is a full-service creative transformation company located in Nairobi. It was incorporated in January 1999 as Media Initiative East Africa Limited and later changed its name to Scangroup Limited in October 2005. The company listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in August 2006 and is currently the only marketing services company listed on the exchange. In late 2013, Scangroup became a subsidiary of WPP and was renamed WPP-Scangroup PLC in June 2015. The company offers a range of services including brand stewardship and communications, customer engagement and experience, technology, commerce and advisory, media investment management, PR, influence and government practice, and shopper marketing and engagement. WPP-Scangroup has a physical presence in 23 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, with majority-owned facilities in nine countries, minority-owned facilities in two countries, and affiliate facilities in 12 countries.
