Athi River Mining (Kenya) Ltd (ARM) was established in 1974 by Mr. H.J Paunrana as a mineral, extraction and processing company and is now a public limited company quoted on the Nairobi Stock Exchange since 1997. Athi River Mining Ltd. is engaged in the manufacture and sale of cement, mining and processing of industrial minerals and chemicals, as well as trading in other building products and the sale of fertilizers. The Company’s operations are divided into six operating divisions: Cement, Industrial Minerals, Lime, Fertilizers, Sodium Silicate and Special Building Products. The Company operates through several subsidiaries, including wholly owned ARM (Tanzania) Limited, which is engaged in the extraction and processing of limestone; ARMSA (Pty) Limited, which is engaged in the manufacture of sodium silicates, and Maweni Limestone Limited, which is a cement manufacturer.
