Vulkan, which was established in 1947, is engaged in the production, distribution, marketing and sale of cement, asbestos cement (AC) tubes, AC plates and asbestos cardboard. The company sold over 300,000 tonnes of cement in 2005, mainly in the nearby regions of Plovdiv, Haskovo and Stara Zagora. In February 1999, Ciments Francais - a unit of Italy's Italcementi group - bought a 70% stake in Voulkan for USD 18.8 million in cash. In June 2003, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold a 24.95% |
