Bulgarian telecoms and Internet services provider Spectrum Net was established in 1997. In November 2000, the private Austrian Internet company EuroproNET Telecom AG expressed interest in acquiring a 75% stake in the Sofia-based firm but the deal failed through. In 2001, Spectrum Net acquired smaller Bulgarian ISPs (Triada, Omega, Bulsoft) to expand its nationwide network. In November 2001, the company acquired 51% in the local ISP Prolink, adding several thousand customers to its base. |
