Bulgaria's leading gas retailer Overgas Inc., which is co-owned by Russian gas giant Gazprom and locally-registered Overgas Holding AD, controls 85% of the gas distribution in the country. The energy firm, established in 1992, has direct or indirect control of 28 subsidiaries, 26 of which are regional gas distribution companies, one is a district heating company and one foreign entity – Overgas International. The firm had some 4,500 households connected to its gas supply network in mid-2004 |
